Hyderabad, Nov 14 (IANS) An abandoned car was found near a railway under bridge in Hyderabad, leading to panic, prompting the police to call in a bomb disposal squad and dog squad.

The incident took place in the busy Kachiguda area on Thursday night.

An unidentified person left the car blocking a section of the road under the railway bridge, causing panic among pedestrians.

On information from local people, police reached the spot and diverted the traffic as a precaution.

Bomb disposal and dog squads were deployed for intensive search.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Eastern Zone) B Balaswamy said that no explosive or suspicious object was found in the car.

The car was found to be registered in the name of Balaji, a resident of Kacheguda.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a person named Sameer had taken the car from him and left the vehicle in an inebriated state.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that efforts are on to trace Sameer.

He said that a case will be registered against Sameer.

The incident sparked panic after a car bomb exploded near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10, killing 13 people.

Another car suspected to be linked to the main Red Fort blast suspect Dr Uman Nabi was seized from Khandawali village in Haryana on Wednesday.

Another suspicious vehicle belonging to a terror suspect was found at Al-Falah University in Haryana on Thursday.

After the recovery of the vehicle, a bomb squad was deployed to check for possible explosives.

After the Delhi blast, an alert has been issued in and around Hyderabad.

Security personnel were thoroughly checking luggage and searching passengers and visitors.
