The Nothing Phone 2a will launch sometime this month, but we still don’t know the exact details. However, a purported leak of the Phone 2a was recently spotted on the internet, and surprisingly, it doesn’t have the iconic Nothing Glyph light.

Most people were surprised to find out that the brand dropped the highlight feature that it said was meant to manage the price of the device. Leaked renders show off the back panel of the Phone 2a, showing off a complete redesign — skipping the Glyph Lightning interface that the Nothing Phone 1 and Phone 2 are known for.

But our suspicions turned out to be correct, as the leaked Phone 2a design isn’t really a design and the actual model will feature a Glyph light in some shape and form. A new leak of the Nothing Phone 2a hints at the continued presence of LED lights on the back of the phone and more customization features for its Nothing OS platform.

There’s nothing primarily focused on high-end devices, but having an “a” moniker variant shows that the brand is ready to move forward. The brand might be making some cuts, which is understandable, but the Glyph lights don’t seem to be going away.

The Phone 2a is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip and feature an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The new Nothing Phone may feature a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KGN9 sensor with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size and 1.0-micron pixel size. The secondary ultra-wide-angle lens, on the other hand, could be the 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide-angle lens. The brand should offer a battery large enough to support 45W charging speeds (if not higher).
