‘The world is looking at India as Vishwamitra’: PM Modi lauds young talent at NCC rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded India’s ‘Vishwamitra’ policy, saying the strength of the Indian passport is increasing due to the extensive efforts being made by the country. Modi was addressing the NCC-PM rally at Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi.

Today the world is looking at India as Vishwamitra. The strength of the Indian passport is increasing. Many countries are waiting for the talent of Indian youth. I often say that in this Amrit Kaal i.e. in the coming 25 years, the beneficiary of the developed India that we are going to build is not Modi, its biggest beneficiaries are youth like you. The beneficiaries are students who are currently in school, college,” ANI quoted Modi as saying.

The Prime Minister also highlighted several measures taken by his government for the empowerment of youth and women and said that a developed India will fulfill their dreams.

“You are the builder of a developed India. Women were earlier limited to cultural events, but his government has opened up various sectors for them, including all three services, and they are leaving their mark everywhere,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister also said that more than 400 sarpanches and 100 women from self-help groups are strengthening the spirit of ‘One World, One Family’.

“This year more than 400 sarpanches from vibrant villages and more than 100 women associated with various self-help groups from different parts of the country are present here. I welcome them all. This NCC rally is continuously strengthening the cause of ‘One World, One Family’,” Modi said during the rally.

“In 2014, NCC cadets from 10 countries participated in this rally. This year, cadets from 24 countries are present in the rally and I welcome all the young cadets from these 24 countries.

Modi also said that India now has the third largest start-up ecosystem, with over 1.25 lakh start-ups and over 100 unicorns. He said that lakhs of youth are getting quality jobs in these companies and added that the digital economy will become the new strength and identity of India’s youth power.
