FFrom her dramatic hat and cashmere gloves to her pair of Spanx leggings And absolutely thick knitwear, celebrity traitor It’s finally here – and so is Claudia Winkelmann’s aspirational wardrobe,
In first episodeWe saw that the presenter has selected perhaps some of her best outfits to date. This is hardly a surprise as the past three seasons have proven that presenters’ outfits are just as likely to go viral as (think) roundtable moments. He Red knitted or distinguished funeral dress from series two). The A-lister season – which includes Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Sally Imrie, Tom Daley and Claire Balding – will surely have even more drama in the wardrobe department.
Styled by Sinead McKeefree (which also works with Claudia strictly come dance), her moody wardrobe sets the tone traitorWhether it was a structured wool coat from luxury British label Connolly for Woodland Mission or a dark DeVore shirt for Exile, her looks reflected the dramatic nature of the show.
Favoring a high-low approach, McKeefry’s styling ranges from a designer cape with high street leggings to a velvet blazer over a £22.99 shirt. But how do you recreate a Claudia Winkleman-inspired capsule wardrobe? McKeefrey says layering is important. “Classic traitor The look is a short Victorian shirt with a piece of knitwear or a blazer over it.
Whether it’s tartan and Fair Isle prints or cord and tweed fabrics, McKeefre says “the outfit needs to work against that rugged backdrop.” It is native attire but still high fashion.
If you’re inspired by Claudia’s styling, McKeffrey shares seven essential items to wear like the presenter, from wrist warmers to stomping boots.
1. Making a shirt

A quintessential look is a small Victorian frilly or lacy shirt. “I always go to Zara… its shirts are great too. Chloé is a big influence at Zara at the moment with the ruffles,” says McKeefre. A masculine style works best for an evening statement look (add a black tie for added impact).
Me+M is another alternative to McKeefre. “The shirts are beautiful – they really are traitor Written all over them. I’m also looking for series four and the celebrity series on there now. For that mid-price point, the quality is fantastic and they may even be a true classic. You can keep it in your wardrobe and wear it again and again.
If you want to save some money and wear a shirt you already have in your wardrobe, McKeefre shared an affordable styling tip that involves a simple ribbon. McKeefree bought it at VV Roulex (from £5.95 per metre, Vvrouleaux.com) in Marylebone, but also John Lewis (from £3.50, johnlewis.com) sells the same pair). “I buy real cross-grain ribbon in black, champagne and beige because if you have a plain shirt from somewhere, you can make a little bow yourself.” Alternatively, you can tie it and hang it or cut it to length for a shorter look.
“If you have a black shirt, you can use a champagne color for the bow, or if you have a light green shirt, you can use a black bow for a little texture.” An easy and affordable way to upcycle an old shirt, it gives traitor Look in seconds.
2. Knitwear
You can’t talk about Claudia’s wardrobe traitor Without mentioning mega knitwear. Last season, she turned heads when she wore a rose-embroidered Barry knit (£1,400) to breakfast. barry.com,
“It’s great when you can use a label like Capital, because they do the work for you. They take fairly traditional knits like the Aran jumper we did last year, but add yellow smiley faces,” she says. “Without the yellow, it would just be a gorgeous green Aran jumper. But with the yellow, it just screams cool.” If labels like Capitol are out of budget, McKeefre says, “Me+M is the savior of everything. It’s really good quality and has amazing knitwear.”
As far as styling your knitwear goes, it’s all about layering. McKeefry favors a frilly blouse with a flare on the bottom or a dressy wool trench on top. When you’ve got an oversized silhouette like last year’s red jumper (£585, ilovemrmittens.com), wear it with slimline bottoms like leggings.
3. Blazer

The right blazer can tie the entire look together. For daytime, McKeefrie likes tweed styles like Bella Freud and Connolly, while “the evening look is based entirely on velvet and DeVore fabrics.”
Because of the masculine nature of the blazer, McKeefre says, “The look can capture that tense moment where Claudia is hearing them all basically throwing each other under the table. Having dark colors and velvet is appropriate for the drama.”
Last year, she styled Claudia in a high street black blazer from Jigsaw (£110). Ara-online.com), as well as a luxury velvet pipe style from durable tailor Knatchbull.
4. Leggings
Proving that leggings aren’t just for lounging around, Claudia makes a case for Spanx (£100,). spanx.com) In traitorThe perfect form-fitting contrast to oversized coats, knitwear, and blazers, McKeefree emphasizes the power of a pair of simple (and affordable) leggings.
Skin-tight skinny jeans (yes, they’re officially back) get a similar look. “I’m wearing Holland & Cooper biker jeans (£145, hollandandcooper.com) at the minute. I think they’re really awesome,” McKeefre says. Last season, Claudia wore an army green pair with an oversized knit Aran jumper and signature chunky Dr. Marten Brown Chelsea boots (you can buy a similar pair for £170).drmartens.com,
5. Shoes
“A Good, Strong Boot” Is the Key to Accomplishing a Punk-Infused traitor Look Last year, we “got shoes from Bottega. They’re really making every outfit feel a little more premium,” says McKeefre. The platform, chunky black style can easily be replicated with similar designs for the high street – see Schuh (£70, shoes.com), Asos (£25, asos.com) and Vagabond (£145, vagabond.com,
No stranger to high street boots, Claudia is once again seen in a pair of Dr. Martens traitorWhen the style she wore the previous year was not reissued, McKeefre “begged them and they made Claudia a pair in brown”. Featuring their chunky silhouette, exaggerated ankle height and platform sole, the brown pair fits perfectly into her Traitors wardrobe. However, you can find similar pairs (£170, drmartens.com,
Where functionality is concerned, Hunter is known at the show for the Mission, sophisticated tall boots (£130, hunterboots.co.uk) Putting a stylish spin on the native attire.
McCaffrey also highlighted Zara on the high street. “Just before Christmas, there were some very nice brogue lace-up ankle boots in brown. They weren’t churchy, but they gave a similar look.”
6. coat

If you have a large enough budget, McKeefre suggests it might be worth investing in a coat. “Connolly coats are beautifully cut [while] Bella Freud is known for having a gorgeous trench. I love the textures and colors these designers use, and the coats also have a looseness to them. It can be worn over an Aran jumper and layered, but you don’t feel constricted. This is where I’ll spend my money.
Bringing her personal style into the mix, Claudia was responsible for securing the beautiful Yves Saint Laurent coat from last year’s series. McKeefrey says he went into the store to pick up a blazer but came out with a coat. “Claudia said ‘Let me try it!’ And 10 minutes later we bought it. She was like, ‘Am I doing this?’ I said, “You are doing this. Go and put it in a bag. We’re leaving, we don’t need the blazer anymore. We need this.”
All the coats, from Gucci to Connolly style, seen in the latest season traitor Some signatures are similar. They are structured and oversized, allowing for layering while the cut is masculine and androgynous. As far as materials go, look for heavyweight wool and tweed fabrics for that rustic feel.
Starting in series two, Claudia’s black hat has become another signature Cheat Get the look (just add a pair of red leather gloves). Claudia is from a luxury family affair (£730, luxuryfamilyaffair.com) but Cos’ beautiful merino wool cape (£135, Cos.com) or the Monsoon Collared Cape (£130, monsoon.com) achieves a similar effect.
7. Accessories

The right accessory can add the final touch to a look. “A wrist warmer and a big scarf reflect that signature feel,” says McKeefre. Outside of missions, Claudia regularly wears a cashmere wool pair from Brora (£79). brora.com) in ebony colour, while an olive green scarf (£300,) worn by Claudia in series two roseandwul.co.uk) has become a bestseller for the independent label.
Another viral piece is Claudia’s punk-infused red leather gloves (£19, Amazon.co.ukThis is a theme in the show, with the iconic veil from the funeral scene in the series being two other Amazon finds. “A lot of people thought it was designer. But it was just a cheap little Alice band, £3.99, with a little mesh on the front,” says McKeefry. (Take note for your next Halloween costume).
So, if you’re channeling Claudia’s look celebrity traitor This year, look for these seven wardrobe pillars. Try a masculine or frilly shirt under a knitwear or tailored blazer. Then, look for wool and tweed fabrics in your coats and blazers to exude that country aesthetic, before topping up with cashmere, knit or leather accessories. And of course, don’t forget a pair of statement boots, whether it’s a chunky, platform style or an ankle boot with a feminine heel. Your trip may not take you to a castle in Inverness, but at least you’ll see part of it.
