A panel found a 30 -year -old “guilty of misconduct of a serious nature, which was significantly reduced by the expected standards by profession”.

Three students spoke in evidence against him and all were anonymous for the report.

A disciple said: “Kiran Hara was very touching with me. He often touched my back through a hole in the school chair. I used to sit right behind him in the classroom.

“I am facing computers, doing my work, and he will follow me and put his hand from behind the chair to stroke on his back. I don’t know why he did so. I was not upset, so he was not doing it to give me rest.”

He said that he asked him to stop, which he had done at that time, but he resumed it, touching him at the later date.

Another pupil, which was in 9 years at the time of interacting with Mr. Harkar, alleged that the IT teacher said, “Put your hand on my lower back in very unnasis. [sic] Circumstances, such as just walking in my past… ”

A third pupil said that Mr. Harkar rubbed “my back and my thigh” outside one of his classrooms. “I was feeling uncomfortable,” the disciple said. “This has happened more than once.”

When asked about the allegations, Mr. Harkar said: “I have never touched a student’s thigh or lower back. But this is a natural response when someone is upset for me that I get upset to touch the top of his back to console them, but I never touched the lower back.”

He was also found guilty of putting his hand on the upper thigh of at least two students.

Another student, known only as Pupil E, reported several examples of unfair behavior by Mr. Harkar.

In an example, he caught her from the waist; In the second, he wrote the words “Love You” in his planner. He described both events as feeling uncomfortable.

He also sent his improper emails, requesting him to show him bikini photos.

He said, “I was going on vacation and I was worried about how I looked. I was emailing Keran Harikar about it and then I talked to her the next day,” she said.

“They asked me to have fun and asked me to take pictures of myself in a bikini to feel better.

“When I returned by holiday, Kiran Harikar asked if I had taken any photo in a bikini. I said no, and Kiran Harkar said he was keen to see the pictures.”

He also said that he was confident that Mr. Harakar wanted pictures for himself and he felt “strange out” from the request.

He responded to the allegations and said: “I never asked her to see her pictures in her bikini, I asked her holiday to see pictures.”

In a separate email exchange with another student, he wrote: “I saw you in the playground and thought how cute you looked! You had to tell you immediately.”

That email was then shared among the students. Mr. Harkar defended himself and claimed that the message was to help the girl feel better about her appearance.

The report states that during a school disciplinary hearing, he said: “On reflection, I believe that any form of contact is unfair with a student and I regret it completely and I will never do it again.”
