one star The Sopranos is responding to theories about what happens to the show’s protagonists in the finale.
In the last episode, six seasons laterNew Jersey Mafia boss Tony Soprano (played by James Gandolfini), his wife Carmela (played by Edie Falco) and son AJ (played by Robert Iler) are sitting in a small restaurant in Holston, waiting for their daughter Meadow (played by Jamie-Lynn Siegler). Several characters then enter the restaurant, and Tony appears to be eyeing someone off-screen – just before the scene cuts to black.
The series’ seemingly ambiguous ending left viewers with their own theories about what happened to Tony, including that he was killed by someone in the restaurant. Some fans also said that a man in the restaurant looked like David Scardino, whose life was ruined by Tony.
in season 2 The SopranosTony takes advantage of his childhood friend’s gambling addiction, causing David to lose his family and his business to file for bankruptcy. As a result, some fans believe David had a motive to kill Tony.
Actor Robert Patrick, who plays David, was unaware of the fan theory’s existence. He recently Tell TV Insider If David had been the one to kill Tony, he wouldn’t have been told about it.
“David Chase is the only one who knows,” he said, referring to the show’s creator.
“No one has ever reached out to me. I don’t know. Is there a guy who might look like me or people think it’s me? … It’s interesting. Yeah, I wonder. I don’t know,” he added.
“I feel lucky that people still end up thinking about my character. But, man, it was a great experience,” he said.

Fans have been speculating about the meaning of the show’s ambiguous ending since it aired in 2007, although Chase has yet to confirm whether Tony is alive or dead when the screen cuts to black.
