The sentence rate in Haryana doubled with new laws, HM Amit Shah in Kurukshetra says

Kurukshetra, 3 October (IANS) stated that the sentence rate in Haryana was around 40 percent, but it has doubled with the implementation of new laws, more than 80 percent, Union Home Minister and colleague Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated a state-level exhibition on new criminal laws.

He dedicated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects of the state government. On this occasion, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and many other dignitaries were present.

In his address, the Home Minister said that the state government has inaugurated four development projects worth about Rs 900 crore and laid the foundation stone for eight projects.

HM Shah said for the third consecutive time, “People of Haryana have” given a majority, and our governments have left no stone unturned in the development of Haryana. “

First in the history of Haryana, our government has worked with a comprehensive vision, free from narrow approach, to provide rule for every district and community ”.

HM Shah said in a state like Haryana, once notorious for job allocation through bias, today jobs are provided completely on merit, without “Kharchi” (bribe) or “Partiji” (Nepotism), a major achievement of the government.

He said that a grand exhibition organized here was to share information about the three new criminal laws launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Nedic government, which have changed the three criminal laws enacted by the British. The Home Minister expressed confidence that after 2026, each FIR would be almost completely resolved within three years.

He said that old laws were made by the British with the aim of maintaining their colonial rule. HM Shah remarked that “We gained independence on August 15, 1947, we were not freed from the laws implemented by the British Parliament”.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new era of the Indian Justice began on 1 July 2024 by abolishing three British-era laws.

HM Shah stressed that these new laws have been designed to ensure justice instead of punishment and to protect the rights of guarantee to the poorest citizens of the country.

The Home Minister earlier said, due to inability to secure bail, the culprits will remain in jail for years without guilty. However, now, after completing one-third of its sentence, the police themselves appeal for their release.

He said that new laws have been prepared on the basis of three principles given by Citizen First, Garima First and Justice First.

The Home Minister also said that PM Modi has improved many areas in India, the most important improvement of the 21st century is three new laws of “our criminal justice system”.

He said that today, “Our police works with data rather than baton and scientific evidence instead of third-degree methods. Through these laws, five columns of criminal justice system are connected to the prison, judiciary, prosecution and forensic-online”.

HM Shah said that new laws include a separate chapter for women and children. With the onset of e-Fir and Zero Cedar, women no longer need to visit police stations.

The videography of all seizures has been made mandatory, and a series of custody has been ensured for evidence. Additionally, forensic investigation has been made mandatory for all crimes punishing seven years or more.
