The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has identified a window between April 7 and May 20 to host the 2025 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This means that PSL 2025 will clash with the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with this year’s tournament starting on March 22 and ending on May 26. The change in PSL 2025 dates is due to the 2025 Champions Trophy which Pakistan will host in February-March. This comes after the PCB met the six PSL franchise owners as part of preparations for the General Council meeting at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

“With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being held in the traditional event window, the event window for the 2025 event will be April 7-May 20. Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi will host the matches in Pakistan, with each side playing one match each.” At least five matches at home.”

“The PCB will continue to look for additional venues. Four playoffs are proposed to be held at a neutral venue,” the PCB said in a release on Saturday. The possible clash between the dates of IPL and PSL in 2025 will affect the participation of foreign players in both the leagues for the first time.

“As always, we had a very exciting and interesting brainstorming session with franchise owners on the window for Pakistan Super League 2025. Enthusiastic franchise owners shared their all-round insights and views on the window and playoff venues recommended by the PCB for 2025. Provided the event and beyond.”

“At the end of this meeting, and in relation to the most appropriate window for PSL 2025 and beyond, the PCB will share further data with franchise owners so that they can discuss amongst themselves, make more informed decisions and share their views and consideration at the meeting of the General Council.”

PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer said, “We look forward to working closely with the franchises to make a timely decision on the future of one of Pakistan’s biggest brands.”
