The royals were attending the opening of the Boreham Community Hub Wiltshire on Tuesday (Oct. 28) when she was given two portraits of her rescue dogs, Bluebell, Beth and Molly, by artist Hannah Hurst.
When presented with a “brilliant” photograph of Mole, whom she had adopted in February, the Queen said: “I’m going to show it to her – I’m sure she’ll recognize herself.”
Hurst said he was commissioned by the village farmshop to paint the artwork, although he only learned that the dogs belonged to the Queen when he was later shown a photograph of the pets in Charles’s arms and camilla,
“I almost passed out on the floor,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
