The Oshwa man allegedly arrested for abusing the dog; 8 others seized

A 48 -year -old man is facing criminal allegations after an alleged case of animal misconduct in Oshwa.

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) announced the arrest on Tuesday, when the authorities concluded an animal welfare investigation, in response to the report that a dog was physically attacked.

With the help of the Provincial Animal Welfare Service (AWS), investigators carried out a search warrant at a residence near Stewenson Road South and Montakam Avenue.

During the search, the authorities seized eight dogs, allegedly abused. All animals were taken in the care of AWS and currently undergoing medical assessment and treatment as required, the authorities confirmed.

The suspected, a 48 -year -old man from Oshwa, unlike Canada’s Criminal Code, has been accused of unnecessary pain, pain, or injury.

Police say the man was released from custody on an undertaking, which had conditions set by the court.

Durham police did not release the name of the man. Investigation is on.
