The new rules allow the Cubec Restaurant to charge for no-show

Montreal – The owners of the Quebec Restaurant can now charge a fee for those who make reservation but do not show.

Today, under the new rules, restaurants can charge up to $ 10 for each no-show.

An association representing the Quebec restaurant owners has estimated that the average restaurant of no-show is about $ 49,000 per year.

Meanwhile, the Canadian Restaurant Industries Association says Quebec was the only province with consumer protection laws that refused to charge the restaurant to charge no-fees.

Quebec restaurants have to follow several rules to implement the fee, including reminding of the upcoming reservation customers and giving them an easy way to cancel them.

The fee can only be applied to groups of two or more, and only when none of the party members show.
