On Monday evening (July 21), a "tornado" was filmed through the sky of West Yorkshire.

The footage posted on social media in Marsden near Hudersfield showed a narrow tunnel of clouds moving towards Akash.

A tornado is a rapid rotating column of air that reaches between a storm cloud and base of the Earth's surface; They are formed as part of severe thunderstorms.

A spokesperson of the Met Office told the Yorkshire Post: "It surely seems to be a tornado, but without seeing that it is not possible to confirm to touch the ground that it is not a funnel cloud. It is only a tornado if it touches the ground."
