Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra members said on Monday that all VIP passes to the new Ram temple in Ayodhya have been canceled for three days till April 18 as the temple management anticipates a high number of devotees during the Ram Navami festival.

Anil Mishra, a member of the temple trust, said this is the first Ram Navami after the consecration of the temple and many devotees are likely to turn up.

“In this context, the Trust has issued a new guideline to ensure that all devotees can have darshan easily. The decision was taken at the temple construction committee meeting that the darshan will be held between April 15 and 18 There will be no VIP and VVIP darshan,” he said.

Champat Rai, general secretary of the trust, said bookings for all types of special passes have been cancelled. “Everyone has to go the same way,” he said.

Mr. Rai added that the darshan timings have been extended to 11 pm. During the worship of ‘bhog’, the curtains will be closed four times for five minutes each time.

He also asked distinguished dignitaries to come for darshan only after April 19.

Furthermore, Rai said that on the day of Ram Navami, devotees will be arranged to queue up from 3.30 am.

Ram Janmotsav will be telecast on around 100 LED big screens, he added. To avoid trouble and wasted time, visitors should not bring cell phones.

Mr. Rai also said that a railway reservation department will be set up at the Passenger Convenience Center at Darshan Marg.
