The lack of J&K Govt will be to give effective governance: Altaf Bukhari

Web Desk, 24/07/2025

: His party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said on Thursday that the Congress party played a role in the cancellation of Article 370, stripping of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and on August 5, 2019 in two center areas (UTS). He was also elected to the government of J&K government of lack of will to give effective governance to the people.

He made this comment today while talking to reporters after presiding over the party’s provincial meeting in Jammu. The purpose of the meeting was to review the current political landscape and discuss some public issues and some important party matters.

When asked about the strong demand of the Congress party for the restoration of the state in Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “It is good that the Congress party is now demanding the state for Jammu and Kashmir. On August 5, 2019, two center areas of the state have domination and domination of J&K. All these changes could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha without the support of the Congress party.

He said, “The Congress was complex on August 5, 2019. If they did not want to oppose the cancellation of Article 370, they should have at least stop stripping of the state. They had the power to remove the state of Jammu and Kashmir and stop it from dividing the state of Jammu and Kashmir and dividing it into two center areas.”

Responding to a question, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that “After August 5, 2019, the APNI party chased three primary goals: land protection, and employment rights for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and restoration of restoration of the state. As far as the protection of special rights of people of Jammu -Killo, we tell the people that we will not rest, until we will not rest Is not restored by New Delhi.

In response to questions about the government’s poor performance in Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that the elected government lacks the will of giving effective governance.

He said, “Despite being more than 50 members in the assembly, this government has failed to distribute only – because it lacks the will to provide effective governance to those who voted for it.”

He also accused the ruling party of misleading people with fake promises during elections.

He said, “The leaders of the ruling party sought votes from people by promising Article 370 and the restoration of the state. He promised to provide two lakh jobs soon after coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, he claimed to offer 300 units and 12 gas cylinders per year to consumers.

Responding to a question, the President of the APNI party said, “Earlier, people from Jammu and Kashmir were polarized with regional lines during the election. Unfortunately, this time, BJP polarized them on communal grounds.”

Repeating his demand for the urban local bodies (ULB) and panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and ensure that the election was held.

He said, “The ruling party does not want to share power with the grassroots representatives and other people-that’s why it is avoiding these elections. I urge the Hon’ble Prime Minister to intervene and ensure that Alb and Panchayat elections be conducted so that people can be empowered for the ground level.”

Responding to a question, he said, “The APNI party will support anything that is in favor of the good of Kashmiri Pandits, as they have suffered a lot in years.”
