The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has organized a special session to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack

Amid nationwide resentment and condemnation in view of terrorist attacks in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday held a special session to express its condolences to the victims and condemn the Act.

Speaking to reporters in the special session, opposition leader Sharma said that the agenda of this session was to express their condolences to the 26 people who lost their lives in the attack and to unite with the Central Government to compete and provide terrorism.

“The agenda of the session is clear. We will express our condolences to the 26 people who came here as tourists to spend the best moments of their lives … Something unfortunate is that it has caused shockwaves among all Indians, and in opposition to this attack, we are united here. Based on country or religious division.

Asked whether any kind of resolution will be taken on the attack during the session, J&K Lop said, “We do not know what kind of resolution will be brought here today, but we have fully supported the resolution by the CM during the all-party meeting … if they bring such a resolution here, we will be very happy.”

Meanwhile, Awami Itatehad Party leader Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh called on the issue to interact with Pakistan and a memorial was built for Tattu’s handler Adil, who sacrificed his life while fighting the terrorists.

“We also say that there should be talks (with Pakistan). The solution will only come through talks … until you talk, people will continue to die … We have not only condemned the attack, but we have also opposed against it. AAP MLA Mehraj Malik also said that India should not fight the water war with Pakistan, but they should give appropriate reply to the attack.

“The whole world is condemning and mourning the attack. It is necessary to discuss the incident here in the assembly today. The country is united today … First of all, we need to answer Pakistan, then there will be scope for talks … We cannot give an answer not to bring them for our strength. Army and such a quantity?

The attack is one of the most deadly attacks in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, killing 40 CRPF personnel.
