New Delhi, September 18 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to a petition on a petition on September 19, demanding a stay on the decision of the Congress-led Karnataka government, in which the historic and world-famous twilight festival was inaugurated in the city of Mysuru.
During the inauguration of Dussehra, there is a tradition of paying floral tribute to Goddess Chamundeshwari, and opposition for Banu Mushtaq, who inaugurated the festival.
After mentioning the case, the Chief Justice of India Bra Gavai on Friday agreed to list the Special Holiday Petition (SLP), which challenged the dismissal of three petitions filed by former BJP MP Pratap Simha and two others by the Karnataka High Court.
In his judgment on 15 September, a bench of Karnataka HC Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Joshi noticed that no rights were violated.
A bench led by CJ Bakhru noticed that Vijaya Dashami Festival is celebrated across the country, and it reflects the victory of good over evil.
The Congress -led state government asked the decision to invite Banu Mushtaq for the inauguration of Dussehra “wrong”, the petitioners claimed that Banu Mushtaq has issued anti -Hindu statements and commented against the Kannada language.
Banu Mushtaq had allegedly made objectionable statements against Goddess Bhuvaneshwari and Kannada flags. He also objected to the Kannada flag, including turmeric (yellow) and red (vermilion) colors.
The decision to choose Banu Mushtaq for the inauguration of the historic Dussehra Festival is being opposed by BJP and Hindu organizations.
One of the notes filed by HS Gaurav, a resident of Bangalore, said that the work of the inaugural Dussehra should be declared an integral part of the Hindu tradition and should be done by Hindu dignitaries.
However, the Karnataka government has reiterated its stand for the Dussehra Festival inaugurated by Banu Mushtaq.
The government has said that Dussehra is a ‘Nada Habba’ (festival of Bhoomi) and not a religious program strictly. Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President DK Shivkumar’s statement that Chamundi Hills is not exclusive for Hindus, which is involved in striking.
