According to the IMD, thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places along the south coast and Rayalaseema due to the influence of Cyclone Style. Heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Prakasam, SPSR-Nellore, YSR Cuddapah, Annamaya, Tirupati and Chittoor districts on Sunday. Storms with wind speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour are possible along the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

KVS Srinivas, MD, Visakhapatnam Meteorological Centre, while issuing an alert for cyclonic storm Fangal, said, “It is located 120 km northeast of Puducherry and 110 km southeast of Chennai. By Saturday evening, it is likely to be over North Tamil Nadu Moving westward between Mahabalipuram and Karaikal off the coast of Nadu and Puducherry, the wind speed will reach 70-80 km/h.
