favorite character of Julia Donaldson And Axel Scheffler’s acclaimed picture books are ready to grace the BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas, with three brand new idents and a dedicated animated special.

The new advertising idents, created by Magic Light Pictures with animation by Triggerfish Animation Studio, will feature a series of popular celebrities. unites characters with an identity gruffalo, gruffalo babyAnd stick man,
Others include Zog, Pearl, and Gadabout. Zog and the Flying Doctorsalong with the witch room on the broomwhile the third features Harry O’Hea and Betty O’Barley Scarecrow’s Wedding Get a meeting from Santa.
These adorable idents are premiering immediately on BBC One and BBC iPlayer strictly come dance on Sunday, November 30, and will be broadcast throughout the Christmas period.
Kate Phillips, the BBC’s chief content officer, was delighted, saying: “Magic Light has done the BBC proud and created three unforgettable idents that beautifully capture the festive spirit. With a selection of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s most popular characters, I hope they will spread some extra joy and togetherness in homes across the UK.”

This year there will be an animated Christmas special Scarecrow’s WeddingA half-hour adaptation about two dedicated scarecrows, Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hea, whose wedding plans are disrupted by the arrival of a mischievous scarecrow named Reginald Rex.
The special features a star-studded voice cast, including Rob Brydon as Reginald Rake, Irish actress Jessie Buckley as Betty O’Barley, Domhnall Gleeson as Harry O’Hea, and Sophie Okonedo as the narrator.
Directed by Samantha Cutler and Jeroen Jaspert and adapted by Steven Blumer, the special was produced by Barney Goodland and Michael Rose of Magic Light Pictures. Martin Pope, joint chief executive of Magic Light Pictures, said: “It’s a real pleasure to see our much-loved characters returning to the BBC this Christmas. These new identities capture the heart of what makes the stories so special: imagination, warmth and surprise; and they also celebrate BBC iPlayer as the home of The Gruffalo and Friends, where families can enjoy the whole wonderful collection of specials together.”
