Srinagar, 05 July : Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itu announced that the government will take a final decision to expand the summer holidays on Sunday, Sunday in response to the ongoing heatwave in the region.

Speaking to the media, the minister said that the Education Department has received several requests from parents and students about the impact of rising temperature on health.

“We have received many calls from parents and students, who are asking us to consider expanding the summer brakes,” he said.

The department is currently reviewing the situation and will take into account all the factors before taking a decision.

In particular, all government and recognized private schools up to higher secondary level in Kashmir Division are currently observing summer holidays from 23 June 2025 to July 7, 2025.

It was earlier determined in response to a heatwave in the 15-day brake area, with a temperature recording of 35.5 ° C, the highest June temperature in 20 years. (KNS).
