New Delhi, 2 October (IANS) senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Thursday stressed the requirement of Taula, increased vigilance and empowerment in national security in the comments of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, claiming that the statement is an attempt to guide the Center to stay on the right path.
During the RSS centenary celebrations, it came in the form of Bhagwat, expressing concern over the increasing instability in neighboring nations, which was triggered by widespread public dissatisfaction, pointing to a change in governance in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Bhagwat warned that such development underlines the need for vigilance and introspection within India.
He said, “There are unconstitutional elements within the country that are trying to destabilize it. However, these elements will be addressed. The society and administration should now focus on the development of the region (Kashmir),” he said.
Reacting to Bhagwat’s statement, Alvi told IANS, “I believe that he has some extent, correctly spoken that when such circumstances are prevailing across the country, we also need to be cautious, and even more than us, I think the RSS chief has said that it is right and paying them.”
On the request of Draupadi Murmu, President of BJP Mineral Front chief Jamal Siddiqui, demanding Bharat Ratna for RSS founder KB Hedgewar, Alvi called it for the target by Siddiqui “to showcase” RSS and BJP “
“What are the criteria for Bharat Ratna? Can Bharat Ratna be given to those who stood with the British government? Can it be given to those who were not involved in the fight for India’s freedom?” He questioned.
The Congress leader claimed that the RSS has a 25 -year history when he stood with the British government.
“The whole world knows this. He was not known during the salt march. In 1942, when Mahatma Gandhi and others were in jail, the RSS stood outside, assuring the British that they were standing with them. If such people were honored with Bharat Ratna, it would insult the freedom fighters.”
