The discussions of the Philippines President, PM Modi's discussions are to strengthen the friendship among the nations: Mea

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Philippines President Ferdinand Ar Marcos Jr. at Hyderabad House on Tuesday, in which his talks were to pursue friendship between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India and the Philippines share close bonds based on the foundation of civilized connections.

In a post on X, he said, “PM Narendra Modi warmly welcomed the Philippines President Ferdinand Razos Jr. at Hyderabad House. India and the Philippines share close bonds on our civilized, historical and people’s connections to people. To pursue the friendship and strong farewell to us.”

Earlier in the day, Marcos was given a formal reception in the forecourse of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday during his first state visit to India. He was received by President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Marcos JR was presented with the Guard of Honor as part of the Ceremonial Welcome.

In a post on X, MEA said, “There is a special welcome for a special partner! President Ferdinand Romueldez Marcos Junior Philippines was welcomed by the Guard of Honor and Ceremonial Welcome on his first state trip to India. He was warmly congratulated by President Draupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi.”

Rashtrapati Bhavan also posted on X, “President Draupadi Murmu gave a formal welcome to Mr. Ferdinand Romledz Marcos Junior, President of the Republic of Republic.”

Addressing the media at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Marcos Jr. said that the world now refers to what was the Asia Pacific region that was in the form of an Indo-Pacific region.

“Indo Pacific is the correct development of Asia Pacific,” the Chairman of the Philippines today said while addressing reporters in the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital.

This is the first visit to India by the President of the South East Asian country as he marked a significant milestone in 2022, as his visit aligns with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

He is accompanied by First Lady Lewis Araneta Marcos and a high-level delegation, including several ministers of his cabinet.
