The Florida State University student has been postponed by next October for killing two people and injuring six others in a collective shooting on campus in April.
This is the latest delay in the case of 21 -year -old Phoenix Ikner, who recently excluded the case by a public defender appointed by the court, which cited a conflict of interest. Ikner has been assigned a new defense team since then.
He has requested not to be convicted in two cases of first-digry murder and seven cases of first-digry murder in shooting, which terrorized the campus in Florida capital city.
The IKner’s test was initially scheduled to start the week of 3 November and then redefined in late March. On Wednesday, Circuit Judge Lance Neps re -postponed the proceedings, scheduled the test to start on October 19, 2026, almost a year later the case was started to go into the test.
Ikner is the half -son of a local Sheriff Deputy, and investigators say they used their step -mother’s former service weapon to carry out the shooting.
Prosecutors in the case said that they intend to seek death sentence.
