J&K People’s Conference President and MLA Handwada Sajad Loan on Sunday issued a sharp criticism of the operation of regularization of The Daily Wayers, in which the promise of the second election manifesto of the national conference was condemned as “magic and mythology”.
In a careful structured statement, the loan gave a data-driven refutation of everything that has seen as a misleading story of the government. Providing a factual observation, he said, “The official count of the daily stake is 61,000. It is an official count. But the contenders and the number can exceed 100,000.”
Continuing its breakdown, the loan underlined the issue to reduce the fiscal reality. He said, “According to the date, daily bets are paid per capita and 9,000 per month. 61,000 should be about ₹ 658 crore as a date as a total salary bill for daily bets,” he said.
He then addressed the cost implication of regularization, stating that “we would assume that the government would pay the minimum wage, which is around ₹ 27,580. So the payment is additional 27,580 minus 9,000 is equal to 9,000.
Long challenging the dependence on committees, the loan raised a series of questions targeting administrative inertia, which he was promoted by “the most notorious mythology of our time”. He asked, “What is the status of the committee? How many meetings have been held by the committee? Has not every government formed a committee? What is being done in these committees that four to five governments have established committees and no results have come yet?”
Criticizing the delay strategy, Lone said, “Isn’t it true that 4 to 5 rear meetings and this issue will be resolved?” He said that the delay is long to obscure the lack of political will.
He further questioned the financial commitment of the administration: “Where are the funds? Is there any allocation in the budget in anticipation of regularization?”
According to the loan, the age issue is central for debate. “If the government manages to take advantage of funds for regularization, what will be the fate of those who get 60 years of age before the decision? Is there a date set to include those who get 60 years of age. All must be included,” he said, “he said,” he said, “before asking that the government is waiting for daily.”
On the question of backdate entitlements, Loan pressured for clarity: “If they are regularized, they will be paid a new salary from the date that this government took oath? Or the date from which the first committee was formed to investigate their case?
He said that “there is no clue financially that the government is looking for additional cash regularly to pay daily stakes. And the committee is moving at the speed of a snail.”
Loan also questioned the constitutional and moral viability of the government’s commitments, “Can the government tell us about any obstacle that they are constitutional obstacles? Are they constitutionally more prostitution?
Finally, the loan clarified the scope of its argument: “I use daily bets including casual laborers and integrated workers. And in any other such cases,” underlining its widespread stance on the issue, which affects thousands of families in Jammu and Kashmir.
