“And we stand with the people of Southport, who have shown Britain the meaning of the community.
“The nation wants to put your weapon around you. We will come together today to show our grief and solidarity. But Babe, Alice and Elsey to show our determination to maintain the true heritage of Alsi – one of happiness, kind and love.”

People have been asked not to leave flowers at the scene or in schools.

The area outside the Southport Town Hall, where hundreds of flowers and a vigilance were held last year, in memory of those who lost their lives, are due to transformed into heritage gardens.

In memory of Ellis and Babe, a new playground is also being built at Churchtown Primary School, both students.
The members of the public are being asked to consider donating for local reasons – including the names of the victims of the attack and the Southport Strong Together Appeal included funds, established to support the affected people last year.
There will be no major vigilance, but the church and community centers will be open to those seeking support or location for a quiet reflection.
