New Delhi, October 5 (IANS) Congress on Sunday alleged that the Election Commission (EC) deliberately targeted Dalit and Muslim women voters, whose names have been removed from the election role during the recently held special intensive amendment (SIR) in Pol-Bound Bihar.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Alka Lamba, President of the All India Women’s Congress, has revealed that the names of 22.7 lakh women voters were removed from the electoral roles.
He said that most of these voters were removed in six districts.
Tracking the pattern, he said that 60 constituencies in six districts have been targeted to remove voters’ names.
Lamba said that during the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, it was a close political competition between Mahagatdan and NDA in these seats, stating that “the names of voters were removed under a well -planned conspiracy to bow down in favor of NDA”.
The President of the All India Women’s Congress confirmed his party’s commitment against vote theft in Bihar.
He said, “During the recent head practice, the names of about 23 lakh women and 15 lakh male voters were removed, the aim was only to deny the right to vote for those who would vote against it for fear of the BJP,” he said.
Questioning the argument of removing the names of voters at this stage, Lamba asked, declaring them fake, Lamba asked, “With this argument, the 2024 parliamentary elections in these areas should not be canceled and once again held?”
Confirming his party’s stance against Sir, he said that on October 15, the party will submit five crore signature to the EC against vote theft in the country.
All Indias allegedly condemned the refusal by a hospital in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh for the treatment of a pregnant Muslim woman.
