The Chief Secretary has assessed IT initiative to improve services in government departments.

Srinagar, May 5, KDC: Chief Secretary, Atal Dullu, presided over a high level meeting to review the status of various information technology (IT) initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir today with active technical assistance of space applications and Jio-Informatics (BISAG-N).

The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries of several departments; Commissioner Secretary, IT Department; CEO, Jackga; Special Director General, Bisag-N and other senior officials are involved in the implementation of digital change projects in the union sector.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the ongoing IT initiative with the aim of improving the user interface to increase service distribution and to ensure ease of access to the final users. He accepted the important role of Bisag-N in supporting the government’s efforts towards digital empowerment and appreciated his continuous cooperation.

Dulloo emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between Bisag-N and UT government, called for continuous cooperation to get new benchmarks in IT Infrastructure Development and Public Service delivery. He directed all concerned departments to continuously share relevant data and information to facilitate timely upgradation and improvement in digital services.

Emphasizing the need for inter-departmental coordination, the Chief Secretary reiterated that each department should nominate a senior officer as a nodal officer, which takes the responsibility of ensuring timely achievement of the given works.

While reviewing the establishment of the proposed Center of Excellence in Emerging Technologies, the Chief Secretary inquired about the progress made, which includes the detailed project report (DPR) and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among the stakeholders. He called for expediting efforts to operate this center as soon as possible.

Among the major digital initiatives, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress on Rebranding of JK Samadhan Public Grievance Portal (Solution 2.0). He also reviewed the integration of KYC and single sign-on (SSO) system in government services; Development of a portal for digitization of cadustral maps and revenue records to enable its real -time updates during various land transactions.

He also had an evaluation of the launch of a price bulletin mobile application, in addition to the construction of a broad dashboard for the District Good Governance Index and the development of the infrastructure of the village/panchayat-level level of the facilities and facilities.

The Chief Secretary took notice of GIS-based Land Bank initiative, which is being jointly developed by revenue, industries and forest departments, which is with technical assistance from Bisag-N to support sustainable development and ecological schemes.

The upgradation of JKCIP, Kisan Khidetmat Ghar and Darkison portal in the south under the Agriculture Production Department was discussed deeply in the meeting. Progress was mentioned against each and directions were passed to complete the works within the set timeline.

In addition, the Chief Secretary reviewed the development of a comprehensive MSME health clinic to monitor the vitality of small industries. He also reviewed the development of various digital modules for the Power Development Department (PDD) and Water Power Department to optimize service distribution and resource management;

Regarding the Education Department, he asked about the status of e-material development in local languages ​​under PM E-Vedia initiative. In addition, AI-managed individual teaching equipment was also focused on its initial roll out in schools to assist students in overcoming learning gaps.

Other innovative projects discussed included a mining monitoring system for the tourism department a multi-specialty mobile applications, illegal mining activities; MSMES, digitization of cooperative banks and societies and modernization of many other civil services in various departments. (KDC)
