Government officials said on Sunday that Amarvati, October 5 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh government has urged the Central Government to allocate 2,000 hectares of forest land for the development of Sri Bhrimaramba Mallikrajun Swamy Temple.
The development of the temple will be discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is going to visit Srisailam on 16 October.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Endowment Minister Anam Ram Narayan Reddy, and senior officials of Endowment and Forest Department attended the review meeting.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested that action should be taken to develop the Sreesilam temple on the lines of Tirupati temple in Tirumala.
He said that in the context of a large number of devotees coming to this temple from various states across the country, they should be provided facilities, including Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana.
The Union Forest Ministry was requested to allocate 2,000 hectares of forest land for the development of the temple.
It was decided to discuss the development of the temple with him in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srisailam on 16 October to offer prayers in the temple.
The Chief Minister suggested that a plan should be made to connect national highways with the Srisailam temple.
He made it clear that Dornla, Sunderpenta, Eglapenta and other places should be connected to the National Highway Temple.
He said that Srisailam should be planned to be developed as a spiritual center and a tourist destination.
Responding to CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that immediate steps are required for the widespread development of the temple as the number of devotees is increasing year to year.
He said that there is a need to expand the facilities in view of the large number of devotees coming from other states.
The Deputy Chief Minister proposed to study the facilities provided to the devotees in temples like Sabarimala located in the forest areas and develop the Sreesailum site.
The Chief Minister said that all the famous temples of the state are located in the forests and on the hills and have been called for the development of these inherited temples.
He said that in view of Srisailam, which developed as the largest temple after Tirumala, devotees should be provided extensive facilities.
He said that at present, Srisailam has no proper parking facilities.
If the land is not available, then a large number of devotees cannot provide proper facilities, he said.
In this context, CM Chandrababu Naidu suggested that a team of officials should go to Delhi and explain these issues to the Union Forest Ministry.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will also protect the forest areas around the temples.
He said that action is already being taken on the growing greenery and development of forest areas.
The Chief Minister clarified that with the development of the temple, steps should be taken to protect the environment.
He instructed the forest department officials to prepare an action plan for this, who should take steps to increase the number of tigers in the Srisailam Tiger Reserve.
