Jammu, June 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Union Road Transport and Highways, which is for approve the 19 mega road and tunnel projects with a length of 296 km for J&K UT for a period of 10, 637 crores.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the 2025-26 action plan in relation to the national highways of J&K and approved major projects include the construction of a peer-ke-mounted tunnel on the NH-701A (3830 CR), which is Sadhana Turnel (3330 CR), Zaznar Shopeeian for the construction of NH-701 (3330 CR). Shop-llllllllllllllllll-RS, Lal Chowk to Parimpora (Rs 700 crore), NH-701 (Rs 966 crore) Trehangam Chamkote Section Construction, NH 701-A (Rs 445 crore) on NH 701-A (Rs 445 crore) Narbal-Gullerg section, 4-Len Magam Flyover, 2-Burry Building, 2-Birming, 2-Birming, 2-Burry, 2-Birming (Rs 71 crore) and various others including road safety projects.
“Many strategically important projects will improve logical support and soldiers’ dynamics. Projects will improve infrastructure in the center area and add various tourist destinations. The construction of tunnels will reduce the time of travel, ensure all-masters connectivity and increase economic growth,” said the lieutenant governor.
The Ministry has also approved the preparation of DPR/viability study for various NH works in the next 3 years. These include wide and upgradation of NH -444 from Srinagar to Kajigund (63 km), construction of 2L+PS road from Shopian to Magam to NH -701A (75 km), construction of 10.80 km long panjetarni tunnel (31 km), Domel -Katra -Bamla is developing.
