The Center calls an all-party meeting amidst increasing tension with Pakistan

In response to the Gustli Pahalgam terror attack, amidst the tension between India and Pakistan after the launch of Operation Sindoor, the Center on Thursday convened a unanimous meeting for brief political parties on its action against terrorism.

Union Minister JP Nadda arrived in Parliament Annexe Building to participate in the all-party meeting. Congress MP and Lop Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Malikarjun Kharge are also present in the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes that the country should not be divided into such a situation.

“Operation Sindoor has been successfully executed by the armed forces, and the government is very clear about it. PM Modi’s intentions are already known to the world. PM wishes that in such a situation, we should not be divided. This is a situation where every Indian should unite,” he told Annie.

Trinumool Congress (TMC) MP Sudeep Bandyopadhyay appreciated the efforts of the armed forces in fulfilling Operation Sindoor and appealed that everyone should unite.

“We salute the armed forces. We should all be united. 140 crore Indians are feeling proud today. We will meet the government today to discuss it. Operation vermilion was the right operation. We should raise the slogan of the fight against terrorism in the world,” Bandopadhyay told ANI.

The government convened an all-party meeting after the Pahalgam terror attack, and the opposition parties expressed their full support to the government for any action against the criminals of the Pahgam terror attack.

Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed about the meeting and said that the Parliament will be held at Library Building.

“The government has held a meeting of all party leaders on the Parliament Library Building on May 8, 2025 on May 8, 2025: May 11, 2025 in the Parliament Complex in New Delhi, G -074.”

On Wednesday, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the all-party meeting.
