People are shocked over the circumstances under which a body that went missing in Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh a month ago was found. The man’s decapitated body was recovered from a well on Tuesday. Satyendra Kumar Singh, in-charge of Kotwali Dehat police station, said the decapitated body was first removed with the help of police and divers. The severed head was then removed.
Police said the victim Vinod Mishra (40 years old), a resident of Agresar village in the Kotwali Dehat police station area, went missing after going out to defecate at around 8 pm on September 29.
He told the police that a missing case had been registered based on a complaint from the family. His body was found in a well in the neighboring village of Siwan on Tuesday, according to police. Some farmers who went to the well in the morning saw the body. He first noticed a foul odor coming from the well and when he looked inside, he discovered a body and immediately called the police.
When the police took the body out, they found that its head had been chopped off. The team then took water from the well and began searching for the head. After six hours of hard work, with the help of divers, the severed head was finally recovered. SHO Singh said that after the identification of the body, necessary legal action has been initiated.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s father, an electrician, claimed that his son was murdered and the body was thrown into a well.
