Yashvardhan Dalal performed brilliantly while representing Haryana in the Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. He has achieved such a feat in this tournament that no one has been able to do in the entire tournament so far. Yashvardhan created history by scoring 428 runs against Mumbai. He is the first batsman in the history of the tournament since the 1973-74 season to cross the 400-bat mark.
Sameer Rizvi’s record broken
Yashvardhan Dalal, who opened the innings for Haryana, had a brilliant innings. He scored 428 runs off 465 balls, including 46 fours and 12 sixes. Yashvardhan surpassed the record of Samir Rizvi who plays for Chennai Super Kings. Last season, while playing for Uttar Pradesh, Rizvi scored 312 runs in just 266 balls against Saurashtra, the highest score in the tournament, and now Yashvardhan has beyond him.
Arsh Ranga also scored a century
During the match, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl first, but this proved to be a mistake. Haryana’s batsmen performed brilliantly in this match. The opening pair Yashvardhan Dalal and Arsh Ranga scored 410 runs for the first wicket. It looks like Haryana will score runs in this match. Arsh Ranga scored an innings of 151 runs, during which he hit 18 fours and a six. Mumbai’s bowlers performed poorly against these batsmen. But Arshi got out on the ball of Mumbai bowler Atharva Bhosale.
Even after Arsh Ranga was out, Yashvardhan continued his explosive hitting at the other end. It was because of him that the team declared the match the very next day after scoring 742 runs for eight wickets. Atharva Bhosale is Mumbai’s most talented bowler, taking 5 wickets and scoring 129 runs in 58 overs. Apart from him, none of the other bowlers showed much success.
