Britain’s Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, thanked the public for support on Sunday in her first public address since undergoing abdominal surgery in January and posted a photo of herself and her three children.
The photo, taken by her husband and heir to the throne Prince William, shows Kate, 42, smiling and looking healthy, surrounded by Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
In a message on X, Kate wrote: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.”

The UK celebrates Mother’s Day on Sunday. Her Kensington Palace office said the photo was taken earlier this week in Windsor, where the family lives.
Kate was hospitalized for two weeks in January after undergoing surgery for a non-cancer but unspecified condition. She has not been seen in public since, and Kensington Palace said she was unlikely to resume official duties after Easter at the end of this month.
There have been rumors and some wild speculation on social media in recent weeks about the health of the princess, who has been absent from public royal life since Christmas.
Her office issued a statement earlier this month reiterating that it would only provide “significant updates” on her recovery.
Kate’s surgery came on the same day that royal officials said King Charles, 75, would also be hospitalized for treatment for an enlarged prostate.
While the king was hospitalized, his medical team discovered he had an unspecified form of cancer. The king has had to postpone his public events while he undergoes treatment, although he has been photographed carrying out some of his duties as head of state.
