Texas residents and Camp Mystic staff are pleading for help in newly released 911 audio from the July flooding

Texas residents who faced devastating flooding in July pleaded for shelter from the water and Camp Mystic staff requested help in newly released recordings of 911 calls during the flood, which killed more than 100 people in July.

Texas officials fielded hundreds of 911 calls Friday.

Emergency dispatchers in rural Kerr County fielded more than 400 calls over the course of six hours as flooding began in the area during the Fourth of July holiday.

Kerrville Police Chief Chris McCall said the calls were disturbing and difficult to hear.
