Tesla Cybertruck Production: The new Cybertruck of Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company Tesla was expected to go into production in 2022 but according to some media reports, the company has removed the production dates of Cybertruck from its website.
According to reports, on the Cybertruck order page of Tesla’s website, earlier customers were being told that you will be able to complete your configuration when production is in 2022, but now it is written on the website that you will be able to complete your configuration as production approaches.
Cybertruck is described on the website as entering a new class of strength, speed and versatility. This is only possible with a full-electric design. It gets a powerful drivetrain and focus on reducing gravity. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and give a range of 500 miles.
It is worth noting that originally Cybertruck was announced in 2019. In August 2021, Cybertruck production was postponed to 2022 as the EV firm decided to focus on production of its Model Y.
Tesla’s focus on India
It is worth noting that at present Tesla’s focus is on the Indian market, but talks with the government are not being finalized. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently confirmed that the carmaker is “still working on a lot of challenges with the government.”
In fact, it seems that Tesla is trying to reduce the import duty on its cars for the launch in India as higher import duty would mean higher prices and in turn, lower sales expectations. It is also believed that Tesla wants to first import and sell the Model 3 and other products and then start manufacturing in India.
Therefore, the carmaker wanted lower taxes for imported Tesla cars. However, the fact is that the government wants Tesla to manufacture cars in India from the very beginning. Elon Musk has earlier said that India has the highest import duty for cars and wants it to be lower first, to initiate Tesla India launch plans.
