Tension in Jagatal, Bengal after bomb blast, firing in front of former-BJP MP’s residence

Kolkata, 30 September (IANS) tension occurred on Tuesday morning in Jagatdal in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, after shootouts and bomb blasts after shootouts and bomb blasts in front of the former BJP MP from Berkpore Loksantik Constitution, Arjun Singh.

“Stress started controlling the control of a local Durga Puja Committee between two rival groups after midnight. I was at my residence, then watching television. Suddenly, I came to know about the major tension that broke down near my residence. Soon after, the two groups started bombing each other, which continued for some time.

He also claimed that the police personnel present on the spot at that time were so low that they were unable to control the clashes between the two groups.

Singh said, “The situation of the policemen present there was so pathetic that at one time, he also had to flee from the spot. The way raw bombs were indiscriminately thrown away, there could have been the incidents of major casualties and even deaths.”

He also said that amidst clashes, Singh’s nephew, Sanjay Singh owned by Sanjay Singh, which was parked on the road, was severely damaged. Later, a large number of police personnel including Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel reached the spot and finally brought the situation under control.

However, tension in the area continued till Tuesday, after which a huge police team was deployed in the area to prevent the latest growth of tension. Not a single arrest has been made in this regard so far.

At the time when the report was filed, an officer of Barrackpore Police has offered any statement in the case. Localism had frequent reports of conflict between rival groups, especially in front of Singh’s residence for the last one year.
