Temes Water It has been announced that a hosspipe ban will begin next Tuesday for customers in a large part of Southern England.
Oxfordshire, Gloustershire, most of the Wiltshire and parts of Berkshire will be affected by the restrictions, which are starting from next week.
The water company said that this remedy will be brought by the environment agency after putting its area in a “long dry weather category”.
The ban will begin on July 22 for customers for customers in all Ox Postcode, all GL Postcode, all SN Postcode along with RG 4, RG8 and RG9 Postcode.
Temes Water said that these areas were selected as most of the water is supplied by the farmur reservoir, which is pumped and fed from the river Tames.
The company said that hot and dry weather means that the flow in the river is low, which affects the amount of water that can be pumped into the reservoir. ,
It said: “Our current reservoir level in formur is below the average for this time of the year to 92 percent. Low flow from groundwater to Temes River and no forecast rain means that our ability to maintain storage can be difficult.
“And high -temperature forecasts are likely to increase the demand for water in the area. Hot weather also means that more water is lost through evaporation from rivers and lakes like water bodies. We can help manage the amount of water taken from rivers to protect local wildlife.
