Telangana man crushed by truck dies after being 'kicked' by government official

Hyderabad:

A man who was demanding money after cleaning cars at a traffic signal in Telangana’s Nizamabad district was allegedly crushed to death by a tipper lorry when a government official traveling in a four-wheeler, police said on Saturday. Kicked him. Police said on Saturday.

The argument broke out on Thursday evening when the man started cleaning the window panes of the officer’s car at a traffic junction in Armoor area despite being prohibited from doing so, he said.

After an argument, the officer got out of the car and allegedly kicked the man, who came under the wheels of a tipper lorry coming from behind, he said.

Police said that based on the complaint of the victim’s relatives, a case has been registered against the “person driving the car” under Indian Penal Code section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and the matter is being investigated.

A police officer said efforts were being made to identify the accused.

Meanwhile, a case has also been registered against the driver of the tipper lorry under IPC section 304A (causing death by negligence), he said.
