Hyderabad, 2 October (IANS) In Telangana, an MLA of the ruling Congress party raised a line with his remarks, allegedly wished for “death” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bhupathi Reddy, a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly of Nizamabad Rural Constituency, commented on how long Prime Minister Modi would live.
In a video clip shared by BJP leaders on social media on Thursday, the MLA is heard making controversial remarks.
“He always says Rama as Rama was born only because of him. As he goes, Ram will also go,” the MLA said in Telugu.
Bhupathi Reddy said, “If Modi dies, will Ram stay in existence? How many days will Modi stay? He is already 75 years old,” said Bhupathi Reddy.
The MLA allegedly commented at an event in his constituency a week ago in his constituency.
The BJP strongly condemned the comments made by the Congress MLA, calling the comment “shocking” and “insensitive”.
“Lord Shri Ram is an eternal incarnation of the civilization and cultural greatness of India. Telangana Congress MLA Bhupathi’s Vile and Honorable Comment is not a personal outbreak, but the reflection of Congress’s deep heartbeat for Hindu sentiments. The politics of mentality and insignia,” BJP said in a post.
“Let’s unite and fight against the divisive and destructive agenda of the Congress in Telangana and in Bharata,” said this.
Telangana BJP spokesperson Rachana Reddy said that the MLA’s comment reflects the disappointment of the Congress party.
In the past, the MLA used derogatory language against actor Allu Arjun and warned that he would not tolerate criticism of the state government and Chief Minister Revantha Reddy.
