Telangana CM Revanth Reddy participates in inauguration of CII National Council meeting in Hyderabad

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]January 10 (ANI): Addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Council meeting in Hyderabad on Friday, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy outlined the state’s progress in infrastructure, economy Ambitious plans for growth and environmental sustainability.

CM Reddy, while attending the opening ceremony of the CII National Council meeting, highlighted the city’s growing importance as a business and innovation hub.

During an interaction with industry leaders, the CM said that the state has completed 10 years of statehood and the government has a dream for the development of Telangana, which is “Telangana Rise”.

He further said that the government hopes to build a great city in India, dedicated to the service industry. “Our aim is to drive the future city (Hyderabad) to become a pollution-free, net-zero city,” he said.

He added that the state government is prioritizing the electrification of public transport and plans to introduce a fleet of 3,200 electric buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC).

The state has exempted electric vehicles (EVs) from registration tax and road tax to incentivize the adoption of electric vehicles, the CM claimed.

He added that Telangana has become the fastest selling region in India for electric vehicles, underscoring the state’s commitment to a green future.

The CM further stated that another important development project is the Musi Rejuvenation Project. He added that the initiative aims to restore and revitalize the Musi river and ensure fresh water flow in the 55-km stretch of the river in Hyderabad.

He said the project is part of a larger strategy to ensure Hyderabad’s drinking water needs till 2050.

On the infrastructure front, Chief Minister Reddy said that the construction of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) will stretch over 360 km along with the Regional Ring Railway.

The network will promote better connectivity and help develop the area between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the RRR into a major manufacturing hub. The area will accommodate industries such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, aerospace, defence, electric vehicles and solar energy.

He said the government is also focusing on rural development, especially agriculture.

Reddy added that we are focusing on organic farming, cold storage facilities and warehouses located in rural areas of Telangana outside ORR.

Talking about logistics, the chief minister highlighted the government’s plans to develop a dry port that will be connected to Bandar Port in Andhra Pradesh through dedicated road and rail links. The move is aimed at boosting trade and logistics in the region and making up for Telangana’s lack of coastline.

Further highlighting the state’s commitment to economic growth, Reddy said the Telangana government is working hard to create an ecosystem that ensures ease of doing business not just in India but globally.

“We invite investors from all over the world to come and invest in Telangana. Let us create miracles together,” he urged.
