Patna, November 20 (IANS) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday congratulated Nitish Kumar after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time.
In a post shared on Twitter, Tejashwi Yadav wrote, “Hearty congratulations to Nitish Kumar on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Hearty congratulations to all the ministers of Bihar government who have taken oath as members of the Council of Ministers.”
It is hoped that the new government will fulfill its promises and announcements responsibly, will live up to the hopes and expectations of the people and will bring positive and qualitative change in the lives of the people of Bihar.
Nitish Kumar took oath as Chief Minister for the first time in 2000, although that government lasted only for seven days.
Since returning to power in 2005, he has taken oath nine consecutive times, with today being his 10th.
This is the first time that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attended the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar, while Kumar has taken oath five times since Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister in 2014.
During this period, Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister thrice with the NDA and twice with the Grand Alliance.
Samrat Chaudhary took oath immediately after Nitish Kumar. He won from Tarapur and will serve as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.
Vijay Sinha was sworn in next and will serve as the second Deputy Chief Minister.
Nitish Kumar and 26 ministers took oath as part of the newly formed NDA government.
The other ministers including, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Jaiswal, Shravan Kumar, Vijendra Yadav, Lacey Singh, Nitin Naveen, Madan Sahani, Ram Kripal Yadav, Santosh Kumar Suman, Sunil Kumar, Jama Khan, Sanjay Tiger, Arun Shankar Prasad, Rama Nishad, Surendra Mehta, Narayan, Shreyasi Singh, Lakhendra Kumar Roshan, and others.
During the event, Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states attended the function.
This program took place at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where a huge crowd gathered on the occasion.
