New Delhi, Nov 15 (IANS) An Indian Air Force contingent comprising the Surya Kiran aerobatic team and Tejas fighter aircraft will participate in the Dubai Air Show from November 17 to 21. An official gave this information on Saturday.

An IAF official at the Media Coordination Center said, ahead of the show, IAF contingent has landed at Al Maktoum Airbase in Dubai.

“The global event with participation of over 100 air forces aims to promote interoperability, operational edge and military as well as trade cooperation. The event is scheduled to take place at Al Maktoum Air Base from 17 to 21 Nov 25,” the official at the X said.

In another development, the Indian Air Force is set to participate in the 8th edition of bilateral air exercise ‘Garuda 25’ with the French Air and Space Force (FASF) at Mont-de-Marsan, France from Sunday.

The exercise will continue till November 27, an official said.

The Indian Air Force contingent arrived in France on November 10 and will participate with Su-30MKI fighter aircraft.

During the exercise, IAF’s Su-30MKI aircraft will operate with French multirole combat aircraft in complex simulated air combat scenarios, focusing on air-to-air combat, air defense and joint strike operations.

The statement said the objective of the exercise is to refine tactics and procedures in a realistic operational environment, enable mutual learning and promote interoperability between the IAF and FASF.

Exercise Garuda 25 also provides an opportunity for professional interaction, exchange of operational knowledge and sharing of best practices between the two Air Forces.

Participation in this exercise underlines the LAF’s commitment to constructively engage with friendly foreign air forces through multilateral exercises, promoting mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of air operations.

Airlift support for the exercise is being provided by C-17 Globemaster III for the induction and de-induction phases of the exercise, while IL-78 air-to-air refueling tankers are used to extend the range and endurance of the participating fighters.
