Tegana: Anti-Naxal force commando electrocuted during combing operation

A 30-year-old police officer of Telangana police’s elite anti-Naxal unit Greyhound died due to electrocution during combing operations in forest areas in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, officials said on Monday.

They said the incident took place in Kataram mandal on Sunday night when A Praveen of Greyhound commando came in contact with an electric wire set up by poachers to hunt wild animals and was electrocuted.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed condolences over the death of the commando, an official release said. The chief minister expressed his deep condolences to the family of the deceased, the statement said.

Meanwhile, forest officials have been asked to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
