Tecno Camon 30 series launches 50-megapixel selfie camera

The Tecno Camon 30 series was launched in Nigeria on Wednesday, April 3rd. The series includes the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G, Camon 30 5G and the basic Camon 30. The smartphones were initially unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in February this year. The smartphones are powered by MediaTek chipsets and each comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 70W wired fast charging. They also come with stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Whether the phone will launch in India is yet to be confirmed.

The 8GB + 256GB options of the base Tecno Camon 30 are Pricing It is priced at 2,73,000 Nigerian Naira (approximately Rs. 17,100), while the 12GB + 256GB version is priced at 3,21,500 Nigerian Naira (approximately Rs. 20,200). This model is available in Icelandic Basalt Black, Sahara Sand Brown and Uyuni Salt White.

Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon 30 5G model is priced at NGN 4,52,000 (approximately Rs. 28,400), while the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is priced at NGN 5,38,000 (approximately Rs. 33,800). The former is available in Emerald Lagoon Green, Icelandic Basalt Black and Uyuni Salt White. The Pro model comes in Icelandic Basalt Black and Alpine Snow Silver shades.

Tecno Nigeria is yet to announce the sale date of the Camon 30 model but it has been announced disclose List of stores where the phone is currently available for pre-order.

Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G Specifications, Features

The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (2,436 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage. It ships with HiOS 14 based on Android 14.

For optics, the Tecno Camon Pro 5G includes a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor followed by dual rear cameras flash. The front camera features a 50-megapixel sensor with autofocus.

The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 70W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 4G options come with a similar display panel as the Pro version. However, the regular model supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. The 5G phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, while the 4G phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. The phones also feature similar operating system, battery and selfie camera specifications as the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G.

In the camera department, the dual rear camera unit on the Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 comes with a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor with a dual rear flash unit. The 5G version supports 70W fast charging, and the 4G version supports 45W wired fast charging. Both phones also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
