“Technical Error”: Posting N-S-word on “accident” after US news channel

Los Angeles-based TV news channel gave rise to major controversies on Friday after sharing a post with N-Word on the social media platform X.

The post was shared and later removed from the channel’s official X account on the platform owned by Elon Musk.

However, it expressed displeasure over the Internet, where many users shared screenshots of the post, forcing the station to issue an apology for “technical error”, the New York Post reported.

What is controversy?

On Friday, the aggressive word Ktla’s X handle was shared without any reference, also known as Channel 5.

It was too late before the channel could remove the post, as many of its million followers took screenshots and shared them online.

In his apology, the CTLA claimed that it was due to a “technical error”.

“The CTLA experienced a technical error when adding language filters to our social media accounts, resulting in an aggressive word accidentally shared,” it was written and said that the channel was “waste” and apologized for the same.

In his post, the channel was talking about the function on the platform that allows users to ‘muted’ specific words.

It blocks such positions with special words, phrases, user names, emozis, or hashtags, according to the exit center.

According to the New York Post, the explanation of the news channel indicates that he was trying to add the slur to his “Mutade” list, however, it accidentally finished posting it on the stage.

Mutting specific words and hashtags applies to the notification of handle and house timelines, and these are case-insensitive.

To take advantage of this service, users can click ‘more’ on the side navigation menu and open settings and privacy. Under privacy and security tabs, they will find muted and block options. ‘Mute’ timing is 24 hours and 30 days from a week and forever.

Many of the social media users suspected the clarification given by the KTLA on the controversial post, a user called it “good excuse” from its end.

In a statement by the New York Post, a spokesperson of the news channel said it was “investigating the exact cause of the incident” and that he regretted it deeply.
