Sydney:
Several people were injured in a stabbing at a church in Walkley, about 30 kilometers (18 miles) west of Sydney’s central business district, police said on Monday.
A police statement said officers arrested a man who was assisting police with their inquiries.
Police said the injuries were not life-threatening and were being treated by paramedics.
Local media reported that a church leader and several worshipers were stabbed during services at the church. Video of the incident circulating online shows a man lunging at and stabbing the speaker.
This is the second stabbing incident in Sydney, after six people were killed in a knife attack at a shopping center in Sydney’s Bondi area on Saturday.
