Udhampur : A Sambar deer was successfully rescued after falling into a canal in Kava area of Udampur district. Kava’s sarpanch started the operation after reporting the incident, warning the authorities about the distressed animal.
Rapidly responding, a joint team consisting of Tande Control Room officials, JK State Disaster Response Forces (JK SDRF) personnel, and local volunteers arrived at the scene.
Through coordinated efforts and tireless dedication, the team managed to safely remove the deer from the canal. After rescue, the animal was carefully examined and found in a stable position. After necessary investigation, it was released back to its natural habitat.
Timely intervention not only ensured the safety of the endangered sambar deer, but also increased a possible tragedy.
