Security forces said on Friday that six terrorists were abolished in the last 48 hours in Shopian and Pulwama districts due to Swift and coordinated response by several security agencies after the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April.
According to the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), while addressing a press conference in Avantpora, VK Burdi’s Inspector General of Police, VK Burdi said that after any terrorist strike, such operations are important and the incident of Pahgam triggered an intense combination and intelligence in South Kashmir.
He said, “These operations were immediately launched and were based on reliable input. Cooperation and rapid follow -up between security agencies ensured that the terrorists involved were tracked rapidly and neutralized,” he said.
Major General Dhananjay Joshi, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army’s Victor Force, said that no matter the terrorists do not try to hide, whether in upper forest areas or civil residential areas, they will be tracked and terminated.
He said that both of these operations were different from each other and were in an upper area in the Keller region and it was very challenging looking at the difficult area, while the trollew was in a residential area and the operation was done after all the citizens were safely evacuated.
He said, “We will not allow the terrorists to find a safe haveon in any part of the valley. Our commitment is clear – wherever we are hiding, we will go after them,” he said.
He said that one of the 6 terrorists was neutralized, ie Shahid Kuttay, involved in two major attacks, including an attack on a German tourist.
Inspector General of CRPF, Mitesh also stressed that these operations would not be possible without the support and cooperation of the local population. He appealed to the public to continue his cooperation and help the security forces with timely information.
