The Wyoming Capitol building, including the governor’s office, was evacuated Tuesday after a suspected explosive device was found. The grounds were being searched with drones and bomb-sniffing dogs.
The evacuation, which started at 9.30 in the morning, continued till noon.
Those evacuated included Governor Mark Gordon, as well as other members of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, which were meeting in a basement-level room near the Capitol at the time.
Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Aaron Brown said authorities did not elaborate on what was found, other than that it appeared to be homemade and not a factory-made item like a military round. It was not immediately disclosed where the device was found.
“Whether it’s real or not, our biggest concern is public safety,” Brown said.

Gordon was working with law enforcement and monitoring the situation, Edmonds said.
