Toronto police have made an arrest in a case 2023 murder investigation In the city’s Moss Park neighborhood.
According to investigators, 36-year-old Mohammed Ahmed was shot and killed inside a vehicle in an apartment parking lot near Sherborn Street and Shuter Street on July 25, 2023. He was located inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

For more than two years, investigators have been searching for two suspects believed to be responsible for Ahmed’s murder. Both men are said to be from Toronto and among Canada’s most wanted fugitives.
On November 8, 2025, police gave an update on the case and announced the arrest of 27-year-old Yasir Mohammed. He has been charged with six offences, including murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance order.
He is to appear in court on Saturday.
Meanwhile, investigators are still searching for the second suspect, 34-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi. Police say he is still at large and anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact authorities.
