Surrey Police say they are seeking information about a child abuse allegation in the latest batch of released Epstein files, which names Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The US Justice Department made more than 11,000 files available for download on its website last week, including more than 30,000 pages related to the investigation of convicted pedophiles Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Among the paperwork is a file containing a statement from a 35-year-old man who claims his father drugged him when he was aged six to eight and took him to “pedophile abuse ring parties” in Surrey.

A statement given to the FBI by the alleged victim claimed that the incident occurred in the mid-1990s. He claims he was taken to Frogmore Cottage where he says he was restrained to a table and “tortured with electric shocks” by Maxwell while vigilantes surrounded him.

“I remember seeing Prince Andrew’s face,” the man claimed in his statement, in which the complainant’s name has been redacted.

Surrey Police said in a statement that it found no evidence of the allegations in the file. The force said: “After a review of our systems using the limited information available to us, we found no evidence of these allegations being reported to Surrey Police. We are therefore liaising with the relevant agencies to gain access to the revised information.

“We take all reports of child abuse seriously and encourage anyone with information in relation to these allegations to report us online or via 101.”

Andrew, who has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein or Maxwell, has been contacted for comment.

Earlier this week, this was also revealed in the latest release of the FBI’s Epstein files asked for interview Andrew was taken in as part of an investigation into wealthy sex offender Peter Nygaard, who was jailed for 11 years last year for sexually assaulting four women between the late 1980s and 2005.

A letter written to UK authorities in April 2020 requested that Andrew participate in a voluntary interview on both epstein and the Nygaard investigation.

Andrew has faced intense scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein in the past few months, heightened by the publication of Virginia Giuffre’s repeated allegations that he had sex with her as a teenager. Andrew has always denied the claims.

In October, it was announced that Andrew would be stripped of his “Prince” title and asked to leave his Royal Lodge residence in Windsor.
